Hello Parents,

Thank you all so much for your help for the practice meet.

This is a reminder that you must RSVP by noon tomorrow for the Away Meet at Jackson Creek. Even if you plan on not attending the meet please go in and mark the Not Attending This Meet selection. You can RSVP or mark not attending via the website (link) or SwimTopia app (link). If you do not register your child, they will not be able to participate in the meet.

If you RSVP that you are attending, please attend. We understand that sickness happens but if it does, please text me (304)593-2138 or send an email ASAP. If your kid is feeling under the weather and you are uncertain if you are going to be there let us know by Monday evening.That way when we are finalizing the heat sheets, we do not put your child in a relay. Once you are at the meet, do not leave until all your child’s events are finished. Leaving early leaves a relay team without a person which means those that stayed to swim cannot swim. If you do not want to stay for those late relays you can make a note in SwimTopia that you are leaving early, not available for late relays.

Pool Description:

The away meet is located at Jackson Creek. The pool is a 4 lane pool with blocks on the deep end, which is 9 feet deep.The pool is approximately 21 yards in length. Swimtopia will convert the times at 21 yards to 25 yards.

Parking:

Parking in the Jackson's Creek swim/tennis area is limited. They have 2 small lots and a main parking lot. The small lot between the tennis courts and pool will be closed to accommodate spectator seating. The small lot by the upper tennis courts will be open for parking. Some visitors can also park on Timber Ridge Road. A better choice is to park along East Bank Drive, which is past the main swim/tennis area on the right or to park across from the upper tennis courts on Jackson's Creek Bluff.

Check In:

Please report to the pool for volunteer and athlete check in by 5:15 pm.

Warm-ups:

Our warm-ups will begin at 5:30. The meet will begin at 6:00. If you miss the warm-up time you will not be able to warm-up.

Concessions:

Jackson Creek concession will have pizza, smoked pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy chicken sandwiches, as well as chips, candy and drinks available for cash or credit card purchase. Concessions will be sold at the clubhouse behind the pool. They will be serving bottled water on the main pool deck to all volunteers.

Other Important Information:

There will be no seating on the pool deck. Spectator seating will be in the small parking lot between the pool and tennis courts and in the grassy fenced area above the pool deck. The spillway by the pool will be roped off with caution tape. There are signs stating "Danger-Keep Off Spillway." Please keep your children away from playing on the spillway.

Junior Sharks:

The Jackson Creek JAWs has their own Jr. JAWs team so our Junior Sharks can swim at the meet. Please let me know via email if you plan to swim at this meet so we can make sure our coaches are ready to help your child.

Swimmers that cannot swim unassisted:

While we are allowed to have a coach in the water during our practice meet, we cannot allow this at the meets going forward. If your child is not capable of swimming unassisted, they will not be able to swim during a meet. If you are not sure if your child can swim the length of the pool, make a note when you RSVP so that our coaches are aware. And the coach can determine if your child can swim in the meet.

If your child fits into this category, keep coming to practice because they will likely be able to swim in the later meets.

Volunteers:

We still have a some open jobs for volunteers for this meet. Remember, you must volunteer at least 2 times per swimmer for the season. Our swim team is 100% run by volunteers.We have the following openings available:

*2 People – Lane Manager – 1^st Shift

*1 Person – Runner – 1^st Shift

*2 People – Bullpen – 2^nd Shift

*1 Person – Runner – 2^nd Shift

We have need two additional lane judges and timers for this event and I will let everyone know immediately if this is the case.

No Practice:

There will also be no practice on Memorial Day, May 26^th.

Picture Day:

Pictures will be on May 28^th and individual pictures will start at 9 am. The photographer asks that everyone takes individual photos.The group photo will be at 10 am.
