Hey Shark Families!
Thank you all so much for your help with last night’s home meet. While we didn’t bring home the win last night, I am so proud of how all our swimmers behaved and acted. Thanks to everyone who helped!
We are looking forward to our final Away Meet against Princeton Mill S on Monday, June 23rd
Here is what to look for in this email:
*Princeton Mill S Away Meet
*Junior Sharks
*Volunteers Needed
*Kraken Water Polo Clinic
*End of Season Pool Party
*Coaches Gift
Away Meet at Princeton Mill S:
Our last meet of the season is an away meet. The Away Meet is Monday, June 23rd. Next week’s theme is PINK OUT meet. We would love to have your support for all the families that have been affected by breast cancer. Please wear pink at the meet! You can wear pink suits and even caps.
Please RSVP attending or not attending by midnight Thursday, June 19th. You can do this by going to the website: https://somersetsharks.swimtopia.com/ We will still need volunteers at away meets so please sign up!
If you do not want to stay for those late relays you can make a note in SwimTopia that you are leaving early, not available for late relays.
I will be sending out all the information regarding the meet once I have heard from their coordinators.
Junior Sharks:
We do not know yet if the Junior Sharks will be able to swim at this meet. However, if they cannot we will be doing a race at the morning practice.
Volunteers Needed:
We still have a few open jobs for volunteers for this meet. Remember, you must volunteer at least 2 times per swimmer for the season and this is your last opportunity to get those volunteer credits. We still have a few people that have not met their volunteer requirements. We will be spending emails to you later this week if you haven’t made the requirements. Our swim team is 100% run by volunteers so we need everyone’s help. We have the following openings available:
*1 Person – Timer – 1st Shift
*1 Person – 7&8 Bullpen – 2nd Shift
*1 Person – Timer – 2nd Shift
Please arrive to your volunteer position on time. If you are running late, please send a text. We had to go find several of our volunteers last night, while trying to get everything else ready for the meet. If you are not sure you signed up to volunteer, check the website or the SwimTopia app. I also send an email the morning of the meet to just volunteers that have signed up. So if you receive that email you have signed up for the meet.
Kraken Water Polo Clinic:
Kraken Water Polo will be hosting a clinic at our pool on June 24th from 9 am to 10:30 am. This clinic is available for swimmers 9 & up. I hope swimmers will show up to learn about water polo.
I will also be there working on sorting ribbons and would love your help!
End of Season Party:
Our end of the season party will be held June 24th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Come hang out at the pool for a party. We will be selling pizza, chips, drinks and candy with the following prices:
*2 slices of pieces, a bag of chips and a drink - $6
*Individual slices of pizza - $2 a slice
*Candy - $2
These items can be purchased with cash or Venmo.
We will also be handing out medals and serving cake and ice cream.
If you plan to attend the party, can you please RSVP by clicking on this link

This will allow us to know how many lifeguards and food we need.
End of the Season Party Timeline:
5:00 pm – Party Begins
6:00 pm Awards
6:30 pm – Dessert – We will be calling by age group starting with the Junior Sharks.
Coaches’ Gifts:
We have an amazing group of coaches! They have helped our kids so much this year. Please help us show our 2025 Sharks Coaches all our appreciation by donating to their end of season gift! We recommend each family donate at least $10 if possible. Venmo: @Susan-Culberson (photo of golden retriever) or bring cash/check to me or Sue by June 22nd.
This gift supplements our coaches hard work all season long. They’ve showed up every day in every way for our kids – please help us thank them. We’ve heard from the kids, our parents, OTHER TEAMS, officials and more that Somerset has an amazing crew of coaches.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Alicia Luechtefeld
