Hello Parents,

This is a reminder that you must RSVP by today by midnight for the Away Meet at Princeton Mill on Monday, June 23rd. Even if you plan on not attending the meet please go in and mark the Not Attending This Meet selection. You can RSVP or mark not attending via the website (link) or SwimTopia app (link). If you do not register your child, they will not be able to participate in the meet.

If you RSVP that you are attending, please attend. We understand that sickness happens but if it does, please text me (304)593-2138 or send an email ASAP. If your kid is feeling under the weather and you are uncertain if you are going to be there let us know by Sunday evening or early Monday morning. That way when we are finalizing the heat sheets, we do not put your child in a relay. Once you are at the meet, do not leave until all your child’s events are finished. Leaving early leaves a relay team without a person which means those that stayed to swim cannot swim. If you do not want to stay for those late relays you can make a note in SwimTopia that you are leaving early, not available for late relays.

Away Meet Details:

Pool Description:

The away meet is located at Princeton Mill. The pool is a 4-lane pool with blocks on the deep end.

Pool Address:

The Princeton Mill S pool is located at: 2814 Hitchcock Mill Run Marietta, GA

Parking:

There is no parking in the main parking lot in front of the pool. Parking is only one side of the street. There will be no parking signs indicating where to park.

Check In:

Please report to the pool for volunteer and athlete check in by 5:15 pm.

Warm-ups:

Our warm-ups will begin at 5:30. The meet will begin at 6:00. If you miss the warm-up time you will not be able to warm-up.

Concessions:

The concessions will open at 5:30 and will accept cash and Venmo.

Other Important Information:

The Princeton Mill pool deck will only be for bullpens. We will be setting up tents for bullpens along the side of lane 4. Parents and spectators can set up chairs and tents in the parking lot in the roped off area. You can come in the pool and watch your child swim.

Junior Sharks:

Our Junior Sharks will not be swimming at this meet. We will have a race on the day of practice so you child will receive their ribbon.

Volunteers:

We still have some open jobs for volunteers for this meet. Remember, you must volunteer at least 2 times per swimmer for the season. Our swim team is 100% run by volunteers. We have the following openings available:

*1 Person – Lane Manager – 1^st Shift

*1 Person – 7 & 8 Bullpen – 2^nd Shift

*1 Person – Runner – 2^nd Shift

*1 Person – Timer – 2^nd Shift

Weather Plan:

I am currently watching the weather for Monday’s meet and am hopeful we have no issues. But I want to have a plan in place if we do have a weather delay. In the event of weather, I will send a remind and Facebook post immediately. The message will say whether there is a delay, or the meet is over. If the meet is delayed, please go to your car, and wait until the delay is over. We cannot be on the pool deck during the weather. Do not leave the meet until I have posted that the meet is over, or we make it through everything.

Kraken Water Polo Clinic:

Kraken Water Polo will be hosting a clinic at our pool on June 24^th from 9 am to 10 am. This clinic is available for swimmers 9 & up. I hope swimmers will show up to learn about water polo.

I will also be there working on sorting ribbons and would love your help!

End of Season Party:

Our end of the season party will be held June 24^th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Come hang out at the pool for a party. We will be selling pizza, chips, drinks, and candy with the following prices:

*2 slices of pieces, a bag of chips and a drink - $6

*Individual slices of pizza - $2 a slice

*Candy - $2

These items can be purchased with cash or Venmo.

We will also be handing out medals and serving cake and ice cream.

Coaches’ Gifts:

We have an amazing group of coaches! They have helped our kids so much this year. Please help us show our 2024 Sharks Coaches all our appreciation by donating to their end of season gift! We recommend each family donate at least $10 if possible. Venmo: @Susan-Culberson (photo of golden retriever) or bring cash/check to me or Sue by June 23^rd.

This gift supplements our coaches hard work all season long. They’ve showed up every day in every way for our kids – please help us thank them. We’ve heard from the kids, our parents, OTHER TEAMS, officials and more that Somerset has an amazing crew of coaches.
