Thank You for an Amazing Season!

    Hello Shark Families,

As another swim season ends, I wanted to take a moment to thank each one of you for making this season such a success. Somerset Sharks are much more than a swim team—they are a community, and this season would not have been possible without the support, dedication, and enthusiasm of our swimmers, parents, coaches, and volunteers.

When I first started as an Assistant Coordinator, our team was competing in the Bronze Division and had not won a meet in several seasons. Through the hard work of our swimmers, coaches, and families, we not only started winning meets again, but worked our way up to the Silver Division. This year, our team finished with an impressive 3-1-1 record and placed second in the Silver Division.

While I know many of us would have preferred to remain in Silver, our success means that we will be likely moving up to the Gold Division next season. Rather than viewing that as a challenge or setback, I hope we can all see it for what it truly is—an accomplishment. Earning a place in Gold reflects how far this team has come and the incredible effort put forth by our swimmers and families over the years. We should be proud of what we have achieved together.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to the parents who went above and beyond this season. Whether you stepped in to volunteer when we were short-handed, helped solve last-minute problems, worked long hours at meets, or simply offered support whenever it was needed, your willingness to help made a tremendous difference. There are countless things that happen behind the scenes to keep a swim team running, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed their time and energy.

If you were unable to attend the pool party to pick up your swimmer's medals and ribbons, they will be available in the black file boxes located in the pool closet through Friday afternoon. After Friday, the file boxes will be moved to my home. If you need to pick up your swimmer's awards after that time, please contact me directly to arrange pickup. Any unclaimed medals and ribbons will also be available during the first week of swim practice in May 2027.

As we begin planning for next season, I would love to hear any suggestions, ideas, or feedback you may have. We are always looking for ways to improve and make the Somerset Sharks experience even better for our swimmers and families.

Thank you again for an amazing season. I hope to see all our returning Sharks back on deck next summer.

    Thanks,

    Alicia Luechtefeld
